In 1988 she won her first two Grammy Awards for her 1997 tribute album Dear Ella for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocal, “Cotton Tail” from Dear Ella. Her third Grammy Award win was in 2010 for Eleanora Fagan (1915-1959): To Billie with Love from Dee Dee Bridgewater.

While in Europe she performed at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In the 1990s she performed back in the States at every major Jazz festival and venue, and collaborated with many of the major Jazz artists of our time.
