Iglehart will play his final performance in Aladdin on February 19, 2017 and begin in Hamilton on April 14, 2017 with Broadway’s Brian D’Arcy James set to re-join the show on the same day in the role of King George. He will be replaced in Aladdin by Major Attaway, current Genie understudy in the Broadway company, who will take over the role full-time beginning February 21, 2017.

Based on the 1992 Disney animated film, Aladdin opened at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014. With a score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice with songs such as “Friend Like Me” and the Academy Award-winning “A Whole New World,” Aladdin features a new book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and music direction/orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.
